Hi.
I'm having problems trying to up the speeds that this desktop gets when using the internet over wireless; wpa54g.
Basicly, theres the router on the next floor; netgear dg834g which sends out stuff in the form of 802.11g but its incripted so i kno that takes a bit more time.
This computer has a usb wireless card; its my mums so i didn't really trust my self to put a pci on in there, and it connects at 54mbps with a very good signal.
When i download stuff on this or when pages are viewed, transfer rates are around 75/100k, but over ethernet, i get about 200/275k, so quite a big difference.
I kno that i'm not going to get great speeds over wireless, but the lag is quite noticeable and when i copy files from this i only get about 300kbps.
I did have a go with network stumbler, only to find that it doesn't really like this belkin card; so i couldn't really get any snr stuff from it.
Any ideas about what i could do better other than putting this on ethernet?
